Plantar Fasciitis

PLANTAR FASCIITIS

I have been privileged to journey on the healer’s path for over two decades. And I have been blessed by the Spirit to have made this journey without the benefit of third party insurance, although some of the Doctors I know might argue that fact. There are usually only a handful of painful conditions that are brought to all of us who are lumped in the huge genre of massage therapy. Literally anyone who touches someone in our country who isn’t a doctor, nurse, chiropractor, or acupuncturist is considered a massage therapist. I am a graduate of the Rolf Institute and Rolfing feels very different than a classic Swedish massage. I have also focused on craniosacral therapy from the Upledger Institute and the Karuna Institute. Neither resemble massage..oh well I regress.

One of the handful of painful complaints that is brought to my table is plantar fasciitis. And it hurts! Anyone who has suffered from plantar fasciitis can attest to this, especially when they first get out of bed in the morning. There are a few medical procedures that have proven effective, including cortisone injections, physical therapy, the boot which isolates movement, and lastly surgical intervention. Let me brag, in the 22 years of practice, no one, and I repeat no one has needed surgery , and all have recovered satisfactorily unless they were tired of spending disposable income or couldn’t afford my pricing structure. I tell people if you have been on the planet 60 years that 500,000 hours! Do the math, it may take some time to alleviate the patterns that have created this syndrome. But, a few have fled, which is unfortunate, but understandable.

Now if there is a prominent bone spur, its possible that surgery is the only avenue, because reabsorbing it may take more time then people are willing to spend. And surgery is very valuable as we all know.
